Camping Tents and Backpacking Supplies

Camping Tents and Backpacking Supplies for the Avid Camper

Are you an avid camper? Then you must stack up on the proper camping tents and lightweight backpacking supplies. Here are some backpacking tips to help you.

Your backpacking camping tent is an important element when camping. You want a good night’s rest when out camping so you can have all the energy you need for a truly enjoyable day at the woods. This being said, it is but important that you get one of the backpacking tents that is of good quality. You will only get a good night’s sleep if your tent is properly sealed from both moisture and rain. It should also have the proper ventilation to avoid condensation and wet tent walls. When shopping for a camping tent, you must not forget to consider the right size that you need. This will help you save on extra space that will only add to the weight of your baggage. You don’t want to be purchasing an 8-person tent when in fact there will only be two of you going to the camping site. But oh, be informed that the wise choice of a tent size is one that is a single size bigger than what you actually need. This means that if you are going out solo, then you need a 2 person camping tents; if you are taking your hubby with you, then you must get a 4 man camping tents; if you are out with your friends then an 8-persion tent may be your best option. This little trick should provide you all the extra comfort you need.

Enough of camping tents though. There are other things you should put into consideration. First in the list is your sleeping bag. Again, comfort and backpacking light should be a prime consideration. You want your sleeping bag with an air mattress or at least a pad. You don’t want to spend your nights groaning with discomfort. If air mattresses and pads are too much hassle for you, then you can pack up with a thick bag that comes with a quality lining or padding. You must also consider the temperature of the camping site. A minus-20-degree bag is what you need to battle the cold weather. If the temperature of your camping site is at a subtler level, then a 40-degree rated sleeping bag may be what you’re looking for.

Also, you must not forget to include cookware and utensils when preparing for your camping. Keep in mind that you are not out for a vacation in some grand hotel. You will actually be cooking your own food and must be prepared to do so. A backpacking tent stove, a frying pan, a pot and some plastic wares will help you with the whole cooking thing. And oh, do not forget to pack up with a first aid kit. This is basically a standard operating procedure. You simply have to include essentials like bandages, gauze, band-aids, aspirin, alcohol and hydrogen peroxide.

Another important consideration when shopping for camping tents and backpacking supplies are the outdoor lighting you will need. Camping lanterns are very ideal. You get to choose among a long list that includes gas lanterns, LED camping lanterns, Kerosene lanterns and electric lanterns for camping.

This should help you fulfill your camping tents and backpacking supplies needs.
